Oxford College
Georgia Teen Institute is held at Oxford College of Emory University, in Oxford, GA. Oxford is located on the original campus of Emory University and has been home to Georgia Teen Institute’s summer program since 1991. With its combination of historical buildings and state of the art technology on a small, easily walkable campus, Oxford College is uniquely suited for Georgia Teen Institute’s summer program. Though they love having us on campus each summer, Oxford College and Emory University are not affiliated in any way with Georgia Teen Institute program.
Though experiencing college life isn’t a main focus of the Georgia Teen Institute, over the years many participants have shared that their time on Oxford’s campus is what inspired them to apply to college. It is for this reason that the program has continued to be held at Oxford, allowing participants to get a taste of college life. Over the course of the four day program, participants spend time throughout Oxford’s campus. Large group sessions are held in the college auditorium, small group sessions, including workshops, are held in classrooms and participants have access to the gym, pool and other recreational facilities during free time. Further reinforcing the college experience are the meals, held in Oxford’s Dining Hall, and lodging. Participants are housed, two to a room, in dormitories separated by gender.

From Atlanta:
Take I-20 East to Exit 90 (Covington/Oxford exit). The exit ramp will merge with Highway 278 East toward Covington. Continue on this street until the third traffic light. Turn left onto Highway 81 North (Emory Street) and continue for approximately one mile. Turn left at the Oxford College entrance sign onto Hamill Street. This street will take you to the campus.
From East of Oxford:
Take I-20 West to Exit 90. After exiting, at the traffic light take a left on Highway 278 East toward Covington. At the second traffic light take a left onto Highway 81 North (Emory Street) and continue for approximately one mile. Turn left at the Oxford College entrance sign onto Hamill Street. This street will take you to the campus.
From I-75 South of Metropolitan Atlanta:
Take I-75 North to the exit for Hwy. 36 which is approximately 45 miles north of Macon. Take Highway 36 through Jackson to Covington. In Covington, Highway 36 will intersect with Highway 81 (Emory Street). Take a right onto Highway 81 North toward Oxford, continuing on this street through the intersection of Highway 278. Approximately one mile after the intersection, turn left at the “Oxford College” sign onto Hamill Street. This street will take you to the campus.
From the Airport:
Take I-85 South to I-285 East (toward Augusta). Continue on I-285 until I-20 East (toward Augusta). Stay on I-20 East approximately 24 miles to Exit 90 (Covington/Oxford exit). The exit ramp will merge with Highway 278 East toward Covington. Continue on this street until the third traffic light. Turn left onto Highway 81 North (Emory Street) and continue for approximately one mile. Turn left at the Oxford College entrance sign onto Hamill Street. This street will take you to the campus.
